Mumbai: Honda Motor Company in India has announced its contribution of Rs 3 crores towards Jammu & Kashmir relief and recovery efforts. The contribution is in the hope of providing relief and rehabilitation for those affected, and reconstruction of areas devastated by floods and landslides this month.
Cheques amounting to Rs 3 crores were given to the Prime Minister’s Office for the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund yesterday.
Yoshiyuki Matsumoto, Managing Officer, Honda Motor Co. and President & CEO, Honda Motor India expressed condolences and sympathy to all affected who have lost their near and dear ones, homes and livelihoods. He hopes the contribution will help in infrastructure restoration, and help rebuild lives of those affected.
In the face of ongoing flood related calamities in J&K, Union Health Minister, Dr Harsh Vardhan has assured J&K government of central support to reconstruct damage. On his 2nd visit to the state, he acknowledged the tireless efforts of Army and civilian doctors from J&K and Delhi who have been able to prevent spread of water-borne diseases.
