Srinagar: Feroz-Ud-Din, who claimed to be the oldest man on earth, breathed his last during wee hours of Friday in Bejihama Boniyar area of Uri town in district Baramulla. He was 144-years-old as per his government birth certificate.
Feroz was born on March 10, 1872 according to his birth certificate issued by the State Government. Feroz was a fruit trader by profession who lived in Karachi Pakistan for some time before returning to Kashmir when he was 30.
His grandson Abdul Rashid said that Feroz was not feeling well for a month. He was bed ridden and breathed his last shortly before the morning prayers.
