Srinagar, July 15: Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman, Syed Ali Geelani Monday called for anti-Israel protests in the valley on Tuesday and Friday asking people to raise anti-Israel slogans and hold sit in protests.Geelani appealed people to hold protest demonstrations against the Israeli aggression of Gaza after Zuhar prayers on July 15 (Tuesday) and July 18 (Friday).Geelani also called upon the student fraternity to tie black bands on their arms on Tuesday and Friday in protest against the Israeli aggression on the Palestinian people.In a statement issued here Geelani condemned the Arab and Egypt governments for issuing anti-Hamas statements. “They should act against the Israeli aggression but they instead issue statements against Hamas,” Geelani said adding “this is shameful”.He questioned that there is no one among the children killed in Palestine a Malala Yousaf Zai, whose death could have melted the hearts of Obama and David Cameron?Expressing sorrow and anguish over the inactiveness of the Organization of Islamic Countries (OIC) and anti-Hamas stand of Saudi and Egyptian governments, Geelani said silence of the voluptuous rulers of Muslim countries over the massacre of the Palestinian people have shocked the entire Muslim Ummah and 1.5 billion humans are feeling like the heap of sand.Geelani also appealed the clerics of mosques to pray for the subjugated people of Palestine in all the five time prayers of the day and aware people about the grave situation of Gaza.Meanwhile, a senior spokesman of the district administration told KNS that there would be no restrictions in any part of Srinagar today.
