Srinagar, April 11: In a blatant violation of recruitment rules, the Services Selection Board (SSB) has shortlisted a candidate in Kashmir Division who had submitted his form against the post of Motor Vehicle Inspector in Transport department for Jammu division.
In 2008, the SSB had issued a notification No-07 of 2008 dated 31-05-2008 for the post of Motor Vehicle Inspector in Transport department for both Jammu and Kashmir divisions. However, the written test was conducted after duration of five years on January 28, 2013 in both the divisions. The selection was declared on the evening of same day and subsequently short list was published in newspapers on 29 January, 2013.
Sources claimed that a person named Sarmad Sadiquain son of Mohammad Aslam of Major Ragunath Singh Marg, Sidhara, Jammu did not secure enough points to be shortlisted in Jammu division. “The blue-eyed candidate was short listed in Kashmir division by the SSB where cut of merit was low,” they added. The decision had evoked strong resentment from the candidates of Kashmir division.
Sources alleged that the SSB while conducting the written test adopted new policy. However, for interview previous recruitment rules were applied which is again in violation of the recruitment norms of J&K.
