Anantnag: A shocking and shameful revelation has come to fore in South Kashmir where a 13-year-old girl was declared pregnant by doctors after she was admitted in the hospital. The police discovered that she was being raped by a 'faith healer'.
"The 13 year old girl (name withheld) was admitted in hospital late Tuesday evening after she complained of abdominal pain to her parents," a police official said adding that “after a thorough check up, doctors declared her pregnant”.
While questioning, the victim revealed that a person known as “pir sahib” who frequently used to visit their home in Mattan issued them amulets regularly. Besides he used to do some "superstitious stuff" which they could not understand, the official said.
Police swung into action and arrested the accused person identified as Muhammad Yusuf Bhat, a resident of Tulhard, Ashmuqam in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district, he said.
“A case has been registered in this regard under FIR number 02/2013 under section 376 RPC and further investigations taken up”, the official added.
The 'faith healer' has been arrested.
