Srinagar: All the Kashmir University examinations scheduled to be held on Friday - 30th November, 2012 (excluding I & II Year examinations of Tangdhar, Gurez & Kargil Divisions) have been postponed.
The Controller of Examinations, University of Kashmir said that due to the continuance of restrictions in the areas coming under the jurisdiction of nine police stations in the summer capital of Srinagar, the decision to postpone examinations to be held on 30th of November (Friday) was taken. However, the fresh dates will be notified separately.
Sectarian clashes had emerged in Zadibal locality of Srinagar prompting the authorities to place restrictions.
The life in Srinagar was today paralysed due to the imposition of curfew by the authorities who feared the eruption of law and order problems.
The authorities have decided to continue with the restrictions in the capital city till the congregation Friday prayers would be ended in the trouble-torn sensitive areas.
