Srinagar: A woman in Kashmir valley on Thursday gave birth to quintuplets — three boys and two girls - at a government hospital, officials said. Afroza, a resident of Larkipora village of central Kashmir's Budgam district, gave birth to five children at the Lal Ded hospital — Valley’s lone maternity facility — here after a cesarean section. All the five infants weigh over two kilograms, which is considered "normal", Farooq Ahmad, in-charge General Surgery Theater at the hospital said. The surgery was conducted by Dr Rizwana, who heads the gynecology unit. This is the second delivery for the woman who has suffered two miscarriages between after the delivery of her first child - a boy - few years ago.
