Srinagar: Hurriyat Conference (G) on Sunday termed the rewarding of two police officers by Army as a shameful act.
“Rewarding the two police officers tantamounts adding insult to the injury of relatives of Nazim Rashid and other youth who were killed in custody,” the statement issued by the amalgam said.
“This has proven that the statement of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah that guilty would be arrested within three days was aimed for cooling the tempers. Those involved in war crimes are not only shielded but also felicitated by the Government. Rewarding of both the police officers points towards the grave situation prevailing in the State,” the statement said.
