Jammu, Nov 29: Consumer Electronics manufacturer Arise India Ltd (AIL) today launched 15 mobile handsets, priced between Rs 990 and Rs 4,000 here.
“We have introduced 15 new handsets under 4 different categories - business handsets, multimedia handsets, full touchscreen handsets and everyday functionality handsets ranging between Rs 990 and Rs 4,000,” AIL Managing Director Avinash Jain told reporters.
The company plans to invest around Rs 300 crore over the next three years for strengthening market outreach, consolidating after sales service centres and enhancing productline-up. The handsets will be marketed under the brand ‘Arise Mobiles’, he added.
Jain added, “Our target is to achieve Rs 1,000 crore turnover by 2014 for mobile division.”
He further stated that Jammu is a strategic market for the company. “It (Jammu) will significantly contribute to our aim of capturing 2-3 per cent of over 33,000 crore Indian mobile handset market in the initial year,” he said.
“Arise has a legacy to introduce technologically advanced and innovative products at competitive price points. With our foray into the mobile handset domain, we further our commitment to the Indian consumers by offering global technology at competitive prices,” he said.
Arise Mobiles is the first Indian brand to launch mobile phones with 450 service centres across the country and with plans to add additional 750 service centres by the beginning of year 2012, Jain claimed.
