Srinagar: The Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (R) senior vice-chairman, Javid Ahmad Mir on Friday rejected the interlocutors’ report as, according to him, it contained nothing new.
“The interlocutors have recommended only what the New Delhi has been saying and doing since 1947 to perpetuate its control in Kashmir. They have not made any mention in the report about resolution of Kashmir issue in accordance with the wishes and aspirations of its people,” said Mir while addressing a condolence meeting in Budgam on the demise of the sister of Hurriyat (M) senior leader, Aga Syed Hassan Mustafa Al-Moosvi Al-Safvi.
Mir reminded the interlocutors of the talks initiated earlier by the then Prime Minister, Atal Bihari Vajpayee and present incumbent, Dr Manmohan Singh, with the Hurriyat leaders “which resulted in nothing, but the division of Hurriyat Conference into two factions.”
He said Kashmiris on the strength of their sacrifices were demanding plebiscite and resolution of Kashmir issue.
