Kashmiris on both sides of the Line of Control and the world over will observe the Kashmir Martyrs’ Day on Wednesday to reaffirm their resolve to continue the liberation movement till it reaches its logical conclusion.
In Srinagar, on Friday, addressing a pubic gathering at Jamia Masjid, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq said that a peaceful procession would be taken out in Srinagar from the Jamia Masjid to Mazar-e-Shuhada on the Martyrs’ Day.
It was on 13th July in 1931 that the Dogra forces shot dead 22 Kashmiris, one after the other, outside the Central Jail in Srinagar.
The JKLF-R leaders, Farooq Ahmed Dar and Javed Ahmed Mir, in Srinagar, today, paid rich tributes to the 1931 martyrs.
The occupation authorities continued to place veteran Kashmiri Hurriyat leader, Syed Ali Gilani under house arrest in Srinagar.
