Srinagar: Jammu Kashmir National Front chairman, Nayeem Ahmad Khan today said “in the present political system there is no hope of justice” to the family of Aasia and Neelofer, who were abducted, raped and murdered in Shopian two years ago.
In a statement, Nayeem Khan termed the incident as worst human rights violation. “From Kunan Poshpora to Shopian there are a number of tragedies, but we cannot get justice in the present system. Still it is our duty to remember the victims to nourish our aspirations of freedom,” Khan said.
He said the Shopian type tragedies could never be compensated. Khan said, “The Kashmiris have sacrificed their life and wealth only for achieving their political right of self determination and the martyrs like Aasia and Neelofer are symbolizing the movement for the achievement of that right”.
Nayeem accused the mainstream politicians of “playing in the hands of New Delhi”.
“Where are the politicians who promised to nab the culprits of Shopian tragedy in 48 hours?” Nayeem questioned.
He said “the men in uniform are involved in gross rights violations in J&K,” adding the women had been the worst victims of these violations.
Urging the world human rights organization to take stock of the situation and impress upon the Government of India to bring an immediate end to the rights violations and pave way for peaceful settlement of the Kashmir imbroglio, Nayeem Khan criticised the GoI and the local administration for imposing restrictions on common people and their  political leadership.
Meanwhile, Nayeem on Monday went to Nawlori Pattan and participated in the Rasm-e-Chaharum of Dr Arshad Abbas who was killed recently in an air crash.
