Srinagar: Chairman of National Panthers Party (NPP) Professor Bhim Singh on Monday appreciated the “pragmatic, just and much needed approach” of Hurriyat Conference (G) Chairman Syed Ali Shah Geelani, emphasizing on the release of political detainees, suffering in jails under Public Safety Act or otherwise for years.
 “This is an agenda of the Panthers Party that all political prisoners of JK and youth involved in light offences should be given general amnesty in the greater interest of human good,” Singh said in a statement.
 He said that Panthers Party had urged the Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh, to demonstrate courage and wisdom in this regard which may provide an opportunity to the youth to restart their careers.
