SRINAGAR — The Jammu and Kashmir State Council of Educational Research and Training (JKSCERT) on Saturday rescheduled the annual examination dates for the 8th standard.

According to the news agency KNO, JKSCERT said that the exams in the soft zones will commence from March 13 and will culminate on April 2.

Similarly, the JKSCERT said that the exams in hard zones for the 8th standard will commence from March 26 and will culminate on April 10 respectively.

Earlier, the exam was supposed to be held from March 5.

SRINAGAR — The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) on Wednesday released a date sheet for the annual regular examination of 10th to 12th standard in hard zones of the region.

According to the news agency KNO, the examinations for the 12th standard will commence from April 8.

JKBOSE said that the exams of 10th standard in hard zones will commence from April 4.

Similarly, JKBOSE said that the annual regular exams of the 11th standard will commence from April 12.

SRINAGAR — Ending uncertainty on the issue, the government on Friday ordered that all elementary class examinations will be held in March next year.

In early September this year, the authorities had announced that the classes 10 and 12 Board examinations conducted by the J&K Board of School Education (JKBOSE) in Kashmir from this academic session shall be conducted along with the Jammu division in March instead of October-November to have a 'uniform academic calendar.' However, there was uncertainty if all other exams will also be held in March and the same has now ended.

“In continuation to Government Order No. 2074-JK(Edu) of 2022; Dated: 31.08.2022, sanction is hereby accorded to the implementation of Uniform Academic Calendar including conduct of annual examinations in March-April session for classes upto 9 standard in all the Government and Government recognized Private Schools of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir,” reads an order by Principal Secretary to the Government, School Education department.

The order said, “It is further ordered that new admissions shall commence from the month of March of the calendar year.”

The announcement comes a day after the Director of School Education Kashmir, Dr Tassaduq Hussain told the news agency GNS that the decision in this regard will be announced within two days.

SRINAGAR — Amid confusion regarding the exams of lower class students, the School Education Department on Thursday said that it will most likely conduct it in March and official orders in this regard are expected this week.

According to the news agency KNO, the Director of School Education Kashmir said, “Most likely, all the exams from classes 1-9 are going to be held in the month of March.”

“We have submitted our proposal to the government and we expect the official orders within one or two days,” he said.

SRINAGAR — Following the implementation of the Uniform Academic Calendar, the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) has declared the Leh district of Ladakh and 444 other schools as hard zones and has subsequently ordered to conduct the annual regular exams of these areas in the month of April.

According to the news agency KNO, JKBOSE has said, “Annual regular examinations held by the JKBOSE of classes 10th, 11th and 12th shall be held in the month of March in both the divisions of Union territory of J-K and Union Territory of Ladakh excluding hard zones and hard areas.”

The Board notification states that the annual regular examination of hard zones and hard areas of the Union territory of J-K and the Union territory of Ladakh shall be held in the month of April.

“The results of annual regular examination of Kashmir division and Jammu division and Union territory of Ladakh including hard zones and hard areas shall be declared simultaneously in the month of June,” it reads.

It also reads that the annual private and bi-annual examination in Union territory of Jammu and Kashmir and Union territory of Ladakh shall be held in the month of August and its result shall be declared in the month of October.

“The revised academic calendar for the current academic session depicting schedule of the activities of JKBOSE like the tentative date for submission of examination, forms, the conduct of examination, declaration of results etc has also been declared,” reads the notification.

Pertinently, in August, the government said that instead of the November-December session, it will commence with the annual regular Board examinations of 10th-12th standard from March. Prior to the decision, the School Education Department earlier in May had sought a detailed report from the panel constituted for preparing the uniform academic calendar for both divisions of Jammu and Kashmir.

Earlier, the Chief Secretary of Jammu and Kashmir, Arun Kumar Mehta had said that Jammu and Kashmir will fully implement the National Education Policy (NEP) from the current academic session. Mehta also said that the implementation of NEP-2020 will also move to a uniform academic calendar which in turn will be synchronized to the national academic calendar.

In July, the Jammu and Kashmir Higher Education Department (HED) said that Uniform Academic Calendar shall be followed from academic year 2022-23.

SRINAGAR — Instead of the November-December session, the government is all set to commence with the annual regular Board examinations of 10th and 12th standard from March.

Top officials in the administration informed the news agency KNO that it has shifted the examination session from November-December to March. “In order to bring uniformity in the academic calendar with the national academic calendar, we have decided to conduct all Board exams in March,” the official said.

“Official order in this regard will be issued in a week’s time,” the official added.

Pertinently, the School Education Department earlier in May sought a detailed report from the panel constituted for preparing the uniform academic calendar for both divisions of Jammu and Kashmir.

Earlier, Chief Secretary Arun Kumar Mehta said that Jammu and Kashmir will fully implement the National Education Policy (NEP) from the current academic session.

Mehta has also said that the implementation of NEP-2020 will also move to a uniform academic calendar which in turn will be synchronized to the national academic calendar.

In July, the Jammu and Kashmir Higher Education Department (HED) said that Uniform Academic Calendar shall be followed from the academic year 2022-23. Besides, the department has also said that the calendar shall be prominently displayed on the college website.

The HED had also said that in line with the vision of the NEP 2020, it has initiated a series of reforms for improving the quality of learning and teaching in all government institutions.
