Srinagar, March 27: All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has decided to conduct Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) examination in Kashmir University as well for the convenience of the aspirants of the Valley.
The students from Kashmir valley aspiring for the exam are advised to select Srinagar as Centre option while registering for this all India level test, a handout by Kashmir University read. The handout read that the decision has been made after the special request made by the University authorities. The exam will be held from May 19 to 22 for admission in all management programs for the academic year 2013-14 across centres in 57 cities in India.
The registration process for the test will start from March 26, 2013. Students can visit AICTE / CMAT website www.aicte-cmat.in for registration process.
It is to be noted that this is the additional CMAT examination for the students who could not appear in the earlier CMAT due to the late notification issued by few state governments.
According to AICTE officials, only those candidates who could not avail two opportunities for appearing in CMAT during the September-October, 2012 & February, 2013 tests would be allowed to appear in this additional test.
As per CMAT policy, the candidates can make maximum two attempts in CMAT for admissions for a given academic year and better of the two scores to be used for admission. AICTE launched this national level test in the year 2012 for facilitating institutes to select suitable students for admission in all management programs approved by AICTE.
It may be mentioned that the University of Kashmir shall issue the notification for admission to MBA program separately, University handout read.
